Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Never a truer word was spoken!

Imagine the scene:
Saturday morning, just after eight o'clock, curled up in my duvet, my clock radio alarm goes off. Radio Scotland.
"And now we're going over to Fife", the radio voice penetrated my half asleep state, "to speak to Eugene Clarke". Suddenly very awake.
"GOOD MORNING - I'M ONE OF THESE HIGHLY IRRITATING PEOPLE" says the highly irritating voice from Fife!
AAARRRGGHHH!! FIRST IT'S AN UNIDENTIFIED HUMMING NOISE, THEN IT'S EUGENE'S DULCIT TONES PENETRATING MY SLEEP!!!
The subject of his call to Radio Scotland? His dilemna with having to choose between Hampden and Elgin! Thankfully he's off to Hampden, so those of us who are off to Borough Briggs can do so in peace!!!!

Re: Never a truer word was spoken!

Am off to the Scotland game. Have a safe trip everyone up to Elgin and BURGER BOYS sing one for me. By the end of the day both my teams should still be top of the tables!!!

Re: Never a truer word was spoken!

Listen Jim

I've won a large cheese as a result of that call and it's just occurred to me that I may be able to help you.

That noise you keep hearing may be the sound of angry mice muttering about the lack of eatables in the Corstorphine household. Send them up to me and they can share in my prize!

Re: Never a truer word was spoken!

Eugene, We had a better day out than you also less expensive our trip to Elgin.

We saw more goals than you, we saw 5, a missed penalty and two yellow cards how is that for excitement.

Not too shabby for a guy who did not apply for a ticket to the Scotland game, but did book a seat on the train with Stewart and company to Elgin.

Hope to meet you next week at Stenhousemuir.

Also the banter on the trip was Great.

Re: Never a truer word was spoken!

Eugene, he's obviously never travelled on the CLITS bus?

Re: Never a truer word was spoken!
