Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Open Meeting

I've been asked to mention this on behalf of the FFFF.

It is proposed to hold an open meeting at Bayview on Monday the 6th of November at 7.30pm. The purpose of the meeting is to get as many ideas as we can to get the attendances up. If you know of anyone that would be interested, please bring them along. It would be good to hear from anyone that was connected to the former East Neuk of Fife, East Fife Supporters Club as well. If you know of anyone who was in this club, then please invite them as well.

Some of my ideas range from having greater inputs at local schools, getting more people from Glenrothes, North East Fife and the East Neuk attending, as well as getting people from ethnic minority groups and women to attend. I am sure that you will, have your own good ideas, so bring them and anyone who can help with them, along.

If you cannot make it, please let me know of what your ideas are and I will make sure that they are aired on the night.

It would be good to have as many people there as possible, who knows, we might even have enough there to get the bar open!

Re: Open Meeting

Are u on the bell first haha

Re: Open Meeting

I won't be up in Fife to attend this meeting but I think it's an excellent idea and hope there is lots of attendees with plenty ideas to help get folk back into Bayview, a couple of things off the top of my head. What about a "bring a friend day" during one of the home games, i'm sure everyone knows at least one person that would tag along with them one Saturday, and now that our team are playing well and the club is being run in a profesional manner some might even get hooked and want to come back.

Another idea might be a rewards scheme for those who attend, points could be awarded for every time someone comes through the gate which can then be used to build up discounts at the club shop, restuarant or bar, which would also ensure that money was coming in.

Just a rough idea but maybe one for discussion?

Re: Open Meeting

Have stickied topic as I feel it's an important meeting for those that can to attend and move the Club forward.

I'm working that afternoon and early evening, but if I finish in time I'll head along before the end.
