Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

DON'T GET TOO EXCITED!

EAST Fife manager Dave Baikie has urged fans to be a little more realistic about their title push as their nine-point lead was reduced to just four this week.
And, with teams below the Fifers having games in hand, that deficit could shortly be reduced further.
But this week boss Baikie told the Mail he wasn't 'pushing any panic buttons' and said he expected a lot more twists before the end of the season.
The manager said: "When we opened up a big gap like that, some of our fans and other people expected us to run away with the league but that was never going to happen.
"Gretna did it a couple of seasons ago but they were a special case because of the size of their squad and the money they had. But the rest of us don't have those resources, so there's no comparison.
"There is no team in this league that's a stand-out from the rest and it's going to be a rollercoaster and a battle from now until the end of the season.
"But one thing is for certain — I'd much rather be where we are than anywhere else."

Re: East Fife Mail

What a load of bollocks Dave. We gave Elgin City, the worst team in Britain, their first away point of the season. That's nothing to do with people thinking we should be running away with the league or a lack of resources.
