Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Craig O Reilly 2

From today's Courier

DUNDEE ASSISTANT manager Davie Farrell has challenged striker Craig O’Reilly to prove he is worthy of a return to the Dark Blues squad after winning the young player of the month award for October, writes Ian Roache.

The 19-year-old was rewarded for his efforts while on loan with East Fife, where he is due to stay until the summer, but his five goals in the last six appearances in Division Three have grabbed the attention of Farrell and manager Alex Rae.

The Dens men are reasonably well off for front players after taking Brian McGinty on loan from St Mirren but if O’Reilly continues to impress at New Bayview he will be given the opportunity to stake a claim at Dundee.

“We put Craig out on loan to get games because at this stage of his career that is what he needs,” said Farrell.

“He is scoring goals so of course that has caught our attention and the fact he has just won the young player award is another big bonus for him.

“His loan lasts until the summer so if he continues to progress the way he is then there is no reason why he can’t come back to us ready to prove he is good enough.”
