Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Player Of The Season So Far?

With almost half of the season gone already which 3 players would you say have been the stand outs so far?

I would go for:

1) Jon Smart - Has been solid all season
2) Jabba - Scoring a lot of goals and never gives up
1) Ryan Blackadder - Back to his best yesterday with a few free kicks and set up the goal for Jabba.

Re: Player Of The Season So Far?

Is Elliot Smith not in with a shout.Think hes been brillaint for us so far this season.
Quite a few contenders tho

Re: Player Of The Season So Far?

Elliot Smith should definately be in with a shout, like Tam Courts, his role in the team is maybe less spectacular than some but he hasn't put a foot wrong all season. Smart, Jabba and Blackadder are fair shouts too though, a lot of contenders so far.

Re: Player Of The Season So Far?

1) Jabba - gets into good positions in the box and supports the front men really well, great goal scoring record so far for a midfielder
2) Big Smartie - The powering centre half we have been without for so long
3) Tam Courts - Effective player without the need for flash flicks and tricks

Well done to Dave Bakie for bringing these players in.

Re: Player Of The Season So Far?

For me, it has to be J Smart for obvious reasons. Close contenders would be Courts, Jabba, Smith and Blackadder. Honourable mentions to our super subs C Smart and Martin.

Infact, the majority of our squad deserve a mention! Yes we have had a few off games, well not even games, it has been the odd bad first half then they got their backsides kicked at half-time and rallied but I am very proud to be a Fife fan just now and look forward to each game.

Changed days indeed!
