Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

East Fife v Arniston Rangers

East Fife 2-1 Arniston Rangers

EF came from behind to beat Brian McNaughton's Arniston Rangers on the plastic pitch at Dalgety Bay.

EF: Ross, Smith, Linton, J Smart, McGowan, Courts, Gordon, Jablonski, O'Reilly, C Smart, Blackadder

Ex-Fifer Sean Palickza turned out for Rangers and it was he who put them in front when he tapped home from close-range in the 1st half.

EF made 7 changes at half-time, bringing on Crabbe, Martin, Doyle, Ritchie, Fortune, Kelly and Hampshire with only Ross, Smith, Linton and J Smart remaining (Dodds later replaced Ross). It was sub John Martin who scored twice to give the Fifers victory.

Re: East Fife v Arniston Rangers

Kots any chance of giving us a match report. or feedback on the two goals?

Re: East Fife v Arniston Rangers

Dave Marshall will probably remember more than me, but John's first goal saw him run at speed into the box avoiding a couple of challenges and slotting home under the keeper. The 2nd goal came from a great pass from Stevie Fortune slotting the ball in behind the defence leaving John to knock it past the keeper. He nearly completed his hat-trick when he got in behind the defence again but his lob over the advancing keeper went wide.

It was a fairly low-key affair (well, compared to last week) with both teams having chances. It was a good outing for the likes of Crabbe and Kelly.

Hopefully next week Dumbarton will be dreaming of Parkhead. Tom Courts is apparently suspended though.

Anything to add DAVE?

Re: East Fife v Arniston Rangers

No. I have a memory span of 10 mins.
KotS relayed both goals perfectly.
