Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

DOCTOR WHO RETURNS? - EAST FIFE MAIL

DOCTOR WHO RETURNS?
THE return of hero Kenny Deuchar hasn't been ruled out by East Fife manager Dave Baikie.
Dr Deuchar left East Fife for Gretna after the Fifers were relegated two seasons ago and proved a prolific scorer, netting an unprecedented six hat-tricks in just one season.
It was Deuchar's dramatic last-minute goal against Queen's Park which clinched promotion for the Methil men in 2003.
But now the tall striker has handed in a transfer request after failing to hold down a first-team place.
With the transfer window looming, Baikie is looking for reinforcements.
He said: "Certainly we would like Kenny Deuchar to come back. He is a proven goal scorer.
"There has been talk of him going to Stirling Albion but we'll wait and see."
With a free week, East Fife played a bounce match against Arniston Rangers at Dalgety Bay on Saturday, winning 2-1, to keep up fitness.
But Baikie feels the week off will only benefit Dumbarton, whom East Fife visit this weekend.
He said: "Dumbarton have only lost once at home this season and it is going to be a very tough game.
"They had a great result in the cup against Raith Rovers at the weekend and they will be very confident. I think the free week is a disadvantage for us. We would have preferred to play a competitive match but we'll just have to get on with it.
"Against Arniston Rangers everyone managed 45 minutes, which was something."
East Fife will be without the suspended Tom Courts while Jason Dair is out with a niggling calf injury along with long-term absentee Greig McDonald, who now has a hamstring injury despite recovering from his leg break.
But both Gary Kelly and Scott Crabbe have featured in recent bounce games and could be in contention on Saturday.
