Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Seating

Due to the poor condition of some of our seats at the home end of the stadium the Board of Directors, with your safety and comfort in mind, have decided to ask all our fans to use the present away end as from the first home game of 2007.

This will enable us to carry out a necessary repair/replacement programme.

All season ticket holders will be able to occupy their present seat number after the change. We regret any inconvenience caused but the sooner the scheduled work is carried out the sooner we can have our crowd capacity back to where it should be.If anyone has any concerns please contact the Club.

Thank you for your understanding.

Re: Seating

Not that i'm being picky Dave but will season ticket seats have a reserved sticker? Does this mean that the entire home end will be closed or will part of it remain open for away fans.
Is the work being carried out covered by any sort of warrenty when the stadium was built or is this costing the club money?

Re: Seating

Eric

1. Yes,seats will be reserved and named as now.

2. Part nearest central vomitory will remain in use for away fans.

3. All financial implications will be investigated but, yes, the work will have cost implications for the club.

Re: Seating

"Vomitary" - what a splendid word. Er, what does it mean?

On-line dictionary hasn't heard of it, but suggests "Vomitory" which is apparently a Death Metal band from Sweden! Is this a change to the half-time music? Should be interesting seeing the majorettes twirling to that.

Re: Seating

Vomitory/Vomitary is a tunnel access to a seated arena.Origins are from Roman times I believe,KotS.The stadium drawings describe the tunnels as such.

Re: Seating

Thanks, Dave. Yep, have since found 'vomitorium' which is as you describe. Great words anyway. From now on, I'll take more care walking through them in case anyone takes it too literally.
