Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Best Memories (East Fife/Non-East Fife) of 2006?

I guess mine would be the march with the pipe band organised by Matthew and the resultant mound protests as they showed what can be achieved by people working together for something they believe in.

The non-EFFC is a toss up between a Scottish Opera performance of Der Rosenkavalier in Edinburgh and an encounter with an imaginative lady in Arbroath.

Just for clarification Eugene, the march was Stevie's idea and the pipe band were organised by him and Davie Robertson (I think), but aye it was a good day and a huge step forward for our cause!

Hopefully the best East Fife memory of 2007 will be a football related one, such as winning the title!

My best non-East Fife memory was being able to visit Havana for the first time, a truly amazing place with amazing people, it's a pity Fidel wasn't well as I was going to buy him a pint.

Hearing my name echoing through the ground, with the applause of the crowd ringing in my ears. I always dreamt it would happen one day.
Pity it had to be in appreciation of something I'd done off the field of play, though, and not on it!

Although the result was bad - seeing Willie Gray, fist in the air, accepting the cheers from the fans at the QP game, after changing his mind about resigning.
