Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

weve signed....

partick thistle striker graham gibson on loan for the rest of the season-ex brechin.
the courier says were likely to sign nicholas but keeper john dodds is out for a few weeks.
just hoping that ian ross is fit.

Re: weve signed....

Graham is a 6'3' striker. Also heard a rumour going the rounds in the Juniors that Craig Smart is signing for Ballingry Rovers - could well be as the signing of Gibson and possibly Nicholas will push Smartie further down the list of getting a starting place.

Re: weve signed....

Spoke to a Thistle supporter at work, he said Graham was tall but not to good in the air, has the ability to go by a man and has pace, he has played as a wide man for them. He has been getting a game for Thistle and he reckoned he'd score goals in the third division.

Re: weve signed....

Great news, particularly the return of Stevie Nicholas and i'm sure Gibson can convert a few of the chances we've been creating.

Re: weve signed....

Looks like we might need an emergency goalkeeper signed up, is the young lad in the under 19s ready for a place on the bench yet?

Re: weve signed....

Gibson sounds like a great signing. A couple of years since I seen him play but he looked very good. Tall, but there was much more to his game than that.

Re: weve signed....

Smarty is going nowhere.

Re: weve signed....

From Dick Campbell explaining Gibson's loan deal on the PTFC website...

"Graham Gibson is very much a confidence player and while he started the season really well he has currently not reached these levels and with him having another year after this on his contract I feel that it is important to get his confidence back and for him to be a big player for us next term."

Re: weve signed....

Graham Gibson is the son of famous 1970s Hearts striker Willie Gibson ... who is a son of Methil. Bayview Crescent, to be precise. An excellent pedigree.

Re: weve signed....

Was it not Kinarchie Crescent.

Re: weve signed....

its bayview crescent

Re: weve signed....

Def Bayview Crescent.

Re: weve signed....

OK!!!!

Re: weve signed....

Brian,I`m certain it was Bayview Crescent.

Re: weve signed....

I`m sure a Willie Gibson stayed at Bayview Crescent. Hope this helps Brian.

Re: weve signed....

Brian, it was another Gibson who stayed at Kinnarchie.Willie Gibson DID stay in Bayview Crescent.

Re: weve signed....

your bang on dave, it was MEL

Re: weve signed....

Wullie Gray should have had aw this sorted out before he signed the boy. Tsk tsk.

Re: weve signed....

Its still Broons fault

Re: weve signed....

Leo Sayer / Derrick Brown - the connection is clowns right?

Re: weve signed....

Brilliant stuff!
That means Charlie Fleming was Graham Gibson's Great Uncle.
The man is almost a legend before he pulls on a Black and Gold shirt...

Re: weve signed....

fair enough we're signing strikers. but are we getting rid of any? the one's we have just aren't doing the business. the experience will help the players but they won't play .get rid of them.
