Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

According to the EF mail, Gibson only met the players at 12:30 on Saturday. Surely you can't go straight into the team after knowing them for 2 and a 1/2 hours?

Baikie still seems quite upbeat though. Reckons that Saturday should be a kick up the backside.

I'm pretty sure the Berwick game will be a kick up the backside, we certainly need a win to get back on track and boost confidence. Gibson will have had a couple of training sessions with players now so that can only be beneficial, Stevie Nicholas too.

It's been a pretty frustrating time of it recently and Saturday was the pits however we are still top of the league(just) and will get back on track. As for fans who turn up once evry 18 months and vow not to come back for another 18 months, fine fuck off and go shopping on a Saturday or whatever because that is not the sign of a true fan. Some of the whingeing bastards on here are obviously on the wind up and aren't interested in looking at the season as a whole, they would rather focus on the bad results.

Every team has it's ups and downs and we will hopefully be on the up from now on in.

Have you not got a team in Finlandia to support yet? I think Jari Litmanen is playing for someone over there, funny how he resisited the overwhelming urge to come and play for Cowdung when Mixu was there.

No football over here because of the winter just ice hockey!

I have learned that lainen means land so Mixu comes from Paatland. My Finnish is improving so much!

"True supporters DON'T give up!" Who said anything about giving up? The only thing I gave up was Scottish girls for 3 months and replaced them with fine Finnish girls, oh and plenty snow!
