Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

BAD RUN WITH REFS

In my humble opinion i think we have suffered unduly at the hand of poor refs. The last few home games have in my mind proved this. Saturdays game against Berwick again proved this

Re: BAD RUN WITH REFS

i think we've suffered at punting the ball up the park and our inability to change tactics in a game

Re: BAD RUN WITH REFS

Your right some decissions have gone against us in the last few games but if I recall correctly early in the season we had a number of decissions which went in our favour. The simple fact is that we are having a slump in form and you cant blame the Ref for that.

Re: BAD RUN WITH REFS

For a minute there, I thought this was an Old Firm site.
There is no point blaming the ref, it's the players that aren't performing. Hopefully this will end soon and we will go on a good run (fingers crossed)

Re: BAD RUN WITH REFS

Hey Max with 10 minutes to go of the East Stirling game were you not reminded of Ibrox. 90% of the crowd having departed and the others still rustling their sweetie papers.

Re: BAD RUN WITH REFS

The East Stirling game was the first time you had to stay till the final whistle to avoid the crowd! By the time I got to my car the car park was empty.

Re: BAD RUN WITH REFS

On Saturday the ref let Berwick get away with a series of cynical professional fouls when Fife were creating space. Was there not 4 bookings but at some point the official should be putting their foot down

Re: BAD RUN WITH REFS

I agree with Walter. i have always believed that over the course of a season decisions balance themselves out. on saturday you could argue that whilst berwick may have got the rub of the green in petty decisions we could easily have had two players sent of in the tackle that Smith was part off. he could have been sent off and i think it was Courts (or whoever it was - i appoligise if it wasn't him) who raised his hand and pushed players .
i still think Elliot Smith is one of our best players and does not get credit for his work. he must cover most ground in every match. Look at his runs down the wing - who covers for him at the back (nobody as far as i can see) and he still gets back.

Saying nothing!!!
