Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

YOUNG PLAYER JOINS BAYVIEW RANKS

YOUNG PLAYER JOINS BAYVIEW RANKS

FORMER Raith Rovers midfielder Lloyd Young has been added to the East Fife squad, writes James Campbell.
But boss Dave Baikie's dismissed reports he has signed Paul Stewart on a pre-contract agreement.
Baikie is still looking to add to his squad as his side attempt to bounce back from a mid-season slump in form following Saturday's 2-0 defeat at the hands of Berwick Rangers.
Young (21) has been signed from Baikie's former club Tayport, having spent 18 months at Raith before that.
Baikie said: "Lloyd can play in numerous positions right across the midfield area and is a very skilful player.
"But we have not signed Paul Stewart on a pre-contract agreement. I'm not sure where the reports came from but he has decided to stay at East Stirling until the end of the season."
Another player Baikie is interested in is Ayr United midfielder Paul Walker.
He said: "He is a player we have spoken to who can play on either wing. He is certainly a player that interests me.
"Ayr have indicated they are willing to terminate his contract if he can find another club but we'll just have to wait and see."
East Fife have also been linked with Scott Chaplain of Albion Rovers but chairman Willie Gray denied they were on the verge of signing him.
Meanwhile, Baikie is confident his side can get back to winning ways if they get a lucky break.
He said: "Sometimes things just don't go your way.
"Apart from the East Stirling game when we were rather lacklustre, we have controlled many of our recent games so we aren't pressing the panic buttons just yet.
"We'll just have to work hard this week to get our selves in shape.
"We are looking to stop the rot and go into the next game in a fresh frame of mind."
A trip to Montrose beckons and Baikie feels the Angus side are in a similar position.
He said: "Montrose have made some good signings and have players of quality in their side but luck has also deserted them. We just hope it continues for one more game."
Ryan Blackadder returns after a two-game suspension while Baike will also return to the dug-out following a similar suspension.
Jason Dair, Gary Kelly, Paul Ritchie and John Dodds remain sidelined but Sam Linton could return following a virus.
Baikie expressed his frustration following the loss to Berwick.
He said: "In the first half we were the superior side but if you don't score goals, you won't win games.
"We were frustrated with the first goal because there was defintely a handball.
"I asked the linesman if he'd seen it and he said he had but the referee told him to put his flag down.
"The second goal was a goalkeeping error and we threw the game away."
