Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Trialist Left Back

Wasn't Kevin McBride from Cowden unless he is really clever and managed to play for Cowden this afternoon as well as us ! Anyone any idea who it was ? All three Montrose goals came from down that side but not a lot of cover from Hamps in front of him.

Re: Trialist Left Back

Hamps once again done nothing and should have covered his left back a lot more than he did.
Another thing why was Elliot Smith on the bench?

Re: Trialist Left Back

i agree the left back was out of position a few times, but you can hardly blame hampshire-im not a hampshire fan,but i think he had a good game-plenty effort.

Re: Trialist Left Back

TBH I didn't think either the new left back or Hampshire were to blame for any of their goals. It was just sheer bloody brilliance from their no.7, who ran us ragged over that 15 minute nightmare spell. Can't understand why they took him off after the equaliser. If he'd stayed on they'd probably have beat us!! I applauded along with the Montrose support when he was substituted - not for a great performance, but for the fact their main danger had been removed.
... and if the new left back isn't Kevin McBride, then I'll have to amend the caption on one of today's photos!

Re: Trialist Left Back

Our new player is indeed Kevin McBride, formerly of Cowdenbeath. It was Martin McBride who played for them today,I believe.
