Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Next 3 Games

The next 3 fixtures are: Dumbarton(h), Arbroath(h) & Albion(a). Two home games against two of the teams catching up and a slightly easier fixture at Albion. With some fresh blood brought into the starting 11 and positive performances, we could win two 6-pointers and pck up another 3... If we manage this, we are definetly back on track. A vocal Bayview crowd could very well aid the players and management staff... C'mon the Fife!

Re: Next 3 Games

It has to be 9 points, nothing less will do.

Re: Next 3 Games

Huge 3 games coming up we can't afford to drop any points or we will slip down the table and out of play-off contention.

Hope the players have gained some confidence again. We're now unbeaten in 2 games. What has happened to Jabba's goals?

Re: Next 3 Games

They're still his although Kevein Gordon's claiming the one up at Elgin as his not Jabba's!!!!
Fnar Fnar!!

Re: Next 3 Games

Nine points out of nine would be sensational Bob. We haven't won a game for over two months.

Re: Next 3 Games

Among the many differing views on this forum lately, one thing which seems to be largely agreed upon is that the players currently lack confidence.

It would be nice if we could resolve to do what we can to address this, rather than contribute to making it worse. We all get frustrated but slaughtering individual players on a website is an example of something which certainly won't help this aspect. Giving the players a positive reaction at the end of away games is an example of something the fans do which might help.

When we last got promoted, I remember the players, during their pre-match warm-up, getting an ovation from the fans every time they ran across to the stand-side. Can we take the trouble to do this again, as I believe it starts the game off on the right footing?

If we do end up getting promoted (or not), we'll probably all feel a whole lot better if we can look back and say we done what we could to help the players.

Re: Next 3 Games

Personally I don't think that setting any targets is a good idea, simply because if you don't fully achieve them it is seen as a failure. I think we should just concentrate on the next game, try to get a victory and hopefully the confidence will grow from that to the next game.

Re: Next 3 Games

Good post Kots.

Re: Next 3 Games

I say take each gsme as it comes, saturday is a massive 3 point for us, if we get it then, i am sure that we can take 3 from the other 2 also. I think if we had beaten Montrose we would have beaten Queens Park on saturday, so one win will def create more.
