Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

East Fife 2 Dundonald Bluebell 0

A fairly evenly contested game against a well organised Bluebell side.

East Fife started: 1.Iain Ross 2.Elliot Smith 3.Sam Linton 4.Jon Smart 5.Greig McDonald 6.Lloyd Young 7.John Martin 8.Scott Crabbe 9.Paul Ritchie 10.Craig O'Reilly 11.Paul Hampshire

East Fife created some good chances during the first half, with Jon Smart hitting the post with a backward header after 25 minutes. Just before the interval Greig McDonald opened the scoring with a well taken close range header.
At half time Jason Dair replaced Sam Linton then,
about fifteen minutes into the second half, Smart, Young, Martin, Ritchie, O'Reilly and Hampshire were replaced by Nicholas, Gibson, Jablonski, Doyle, McBride and Gordon.
Bluebell came more into the game in the second half, played some neat football, created some good chances and forced a couple of saves from Iain Ross.
Lloyd Young, who had returned to the game along with Scott Crabbe after being substituted earlier, doubled the Fifers lead with a low drive five minutes before the end.

Good to see Greig back. Might give us a bit more oomph in midfield.
