Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

AFC Wimbledon e petition

AFC Wimbledon are currently appealing an 18 point deduction from the Ryman League for fielding an ineligible player. The problem was due to not obtaining an International Transfer Certificate for Jermaine Darlington who's last club was Cardiff City. Despite Cardiff City playing in the English league, they are affiliated to the Wesh FA and they held the players registration for 30 months, even though the player has retired from professional football.

The error was a simple administration problem and was only picked up after Darlington was booked in an FA trophy match. The irony is that if Darlington had been booked in his first league game, AFC Wimbledon would only have been deducted 3 points. Instead they are currently being charged and deducted 18 points for every game that Darlington played. AFC Wimbledon are appealing the decision and the appeal will be heard by the English FA on Monday the 26th March.

Please take a few minutes to sign the e petition linked below on the number 10 website to try and overturn this ludicrous decision. Thank-you to all who sign it and please pass this link on to all true football supporters.

Good luck to EF for the rest of the season..and as a bonus here is Steve Ferguson scoring a peach of a goal for AFCW last night.

Re: AFC Wimbledon e petition

Any sensible person would see that the punishment didn't fit the crime.

Unfortunately this is the FA we're talking about, so "sensible" doesn't apply.

Nice goal BTW!

Re: AFC Wimbledon e petition

Good luck, with the petition, but remember you are dealing with the "Blazer Brigade". The heads will be back in the sand until you go away.

Oh to have Fergie back at Bayview, that was some goal!

Re: AFC Wimbledon e petition

Is there any way EFST can support this?

ps. great goal from Fergie, still waiting to see the interview somewhere, naebdy wants it

Re: AFC Wimbledon e petition

igor, send the interview to the WUP, they'll print it.

Re: AFC Wimbledon e petition

Petition signed.

Igor - I'm pretty certain that there wouldn't be much we could do to influence anything but I'm sure that it would be supported if we were approached by an official from the Trust.

Fans united will never be defeated!

Re: AFC Wimbledon e petition

Bloody hell lets get a motor and kidnap SF bring him back ASP.

Mind you, think the wee man has done his bit for the club already ££.

The FA are as up their own arses as the SFA so you've nae chance. I know that AFCW has its traditions going back to the old club, but maybe a change of strip would do you good. That blue number looks a bit like a smelly bunch we know. Black and Golds good

Re: AFC Wimbledon e petition

Igor

Sorry no had a chance to put the interview up yet! Will try and get it up the night.

And the interview as well

Re: AFC Wimbledon e petition

Punishment has been reduced to a mere 3 points!

Excellent news, maybe i'll see a league title win this season yet..
