Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

East Fife U19s 3 Clyde U19s 4

The under 19's went down by the odd goal in seven tonight in a thrilling match under the Bayview lights (sorry, no photos though!).
The 'Bully Wee' took an early lead in just two minutes folowing a goalmouth scramble, and doubled their advantage with a neat header mid-way through the first half. Five minutes before the interval, Stuart Cargill pulled a goal back with a superb free kick from all of 25 yards. On the stroke of half time, Cargill almost equalised from close range, but the Clyde 'keeper pulled off a point-blank save.
Five minutes after half time, Michael Bruce equalised from close range then, five minutes later, Jordyn Sheerin controlled the ball 30 yards out, beat his marker and drilled home to put East Fife ahead.
The lead was short lived, however. Just two minutes later a speculative Clyde effort hit the bar and dropped on to the back of 'keeper Jamie Roberts before trickling over the line. The visitors then scored what proved to be the winner mid-way through the second half.
The team played some good football tonight and were a pleasure to watch. Once again, they showed tremendous strength and character to come back from two goals down and were unfortunate not to take something from the game.

Thank you Mr Bean!
Could you also tell me who the no.9 was? I heard him getting called 'Scotty' and I believe he was signed from Berwick? Also the name of the no.16 (Steele?) and the fifth sub if possible (the ones I know are Lava, Scougall, Shepherd and the aforementioned Steele. Thanks.
