Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Div 3 POTY Nominations

Neil Jablonski is one of the four nominations for PFA Div 3 player of the year, along with Wood (Berwick), Johston (Elgin) and Weatherson (QP). Well done, Jabba.

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

Make that five - turns out Scott Chaplain (Albion) is on the list too.

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

All the best for today,Neil.Go take Glasgow by storm.

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

I think this thing's being televised on Setanta at 9:30pm.

Good luck, Jabba.

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

Scott Chaplain wins Player of the year.Unlucky Jabba.

Jay Smart makes the team of the year tho.Well done Smarty

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

yes it was a weird one big smarty was in the team of the year but jaba wasn't

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

Yeah, very strange. Seemingly the players vote for the POTY, but the managers vote for the team of the year. Weird.

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

Grant, it was as follows.....

4-3-3

Stephen Grindlay [Dumbarton]

Paul Paton [QP], Johnathan Smart [East Fife], Chris McGroarty [East Stirling], David Craig [Dumbarton]

Stuart Kettlewell [QP], Scott Chaplain [Albion Rovers], Paul Stewart [East Stirling]

David Weatherston [QP], Garry Wood [Berwick], Martin Johnston [Elgin City]

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

Except that McGroarty really plays for Berwick!!!

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

Been ages looking at the nominations and the team of the year and, you know, I just can't seem to see any Arbroath players.

Tells us a bit about what other clubs think of them, I guess.

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

Would only really argue with a couple of positions:-
Gary O'Connor in goal as I think Grindley is mince
Grant McNicol for Craig ditto.
Would be a great team.

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

Lennon of Albion in place of McGroaty IMO.

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

Weldone smerty on getting in the team o the year

Re: Div 3 POTY Nominations

Not one Arbroath player in the team. obviously the managers know hammer throwers when they see them.
