Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

FAO Eddie Fleming

Up in Tauranga for a couple of days, any good pubs or things to do? Went over to the Mount today and it's absolutely beautiful. Lucky bugger!

Re: FAO Eddie Fleming

its certainly a bit different from the east neuk ! plenty of blue sea to stare at in both places though, you've got to climb the mount, you won'tbe allowed out of town if you don't and the view is quite something, the mount mellick is the only boozer in the mount to go to at the bottom end of the main drag, over the bridge in the "big smoke" most of the pubs on the waterfront are fine, town its self is fairly sleepy, worth a stroll along the harbour front out to the gloriously named "fergusson "park, have a good time

Re: FAO Eddie Fleming

cheers for that. Ended up down the waterfront found a pub with a quiz something to do with badgers, drank a lot of jameson. Off to bed now.

Re: FAO Eddie Fleming

presumably the quiz was not to do with badgers!

Re: FAO Eddie Fleming

Yeah, the pub was the crown and badger (I think).

The Mount is amazing, well impressed with the place. It must be fantastic in summer, apart from the 2 weeks at Christmas with all the parties....

Went to Waihi beach as well, not a sole on it, clean, even the water was warm. A bit diferent from swimming off the power station lol!

Re: FAO Eddie Fleming

HB you probably havent heard but the Forth water is substantially warmer now, ever since Edinburgh sewage works decided to 'dump' 100's of millions of tons of warm Lothian pish and shite into it.

Re: FAO Eddie Fleming

Yeah, heard about it. The gf's parents live in Portobello. What happened?
