Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Jose speaks

I know theres a few Liverpool fans amongst the Fife faithful so thought they might like this piece copied and pasted from the BBC football site.

"If you're not a big club, you choose one competition and you fight in that competition and forget the others.

"Big clubs - we cannot do this. We have to go on until we can and try the maximum we can. It's a risk to try and win everything or nothing, or almost nothing because we've the Carling Cup.

"In the last three seasons in the Premiership, Chelsea have more than 60 points more than Liverpool. That's a lot.

"If they're a great team in knockout competitions, we have to admit that and praise them for it. They're good in knockout.

"But if you play only one competition for half of the season, then you've great conditions. Since January they've played only Champions League.

"So they arrive into this crucial moment of the season in a great situation."

HOW TO MAKE FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE BY JOSE MOURINHO - what a tit!!!!!!!!

Re: Jose speaks

I do hate Chelsea, and i'd like them to get hammered tonight, but you have to admit, Jose is very good at winding people/teams up...

Re: Jose speaks

Agree, hate Chelsea and Jose's an arrogant prick. He complained about Barcelona and various other teams diving about, trying to win penalties etc, when his Porto team that beat the tattie munchers, played with lurpack on their soles.
No lover of any English football, but hope Liverpool give them a doing...

Re: Jose speaks

Mourinho is the Craig Levein of European football...

Re: Jose speaks

He's regressed to childhood and resorted to playground speak yet again.

I bet Rafa's Dad's bigger than his Dad though

Shankly laid the foundations
Paisley built the house, now
Rafa's doing the garden.

Re: Jose speaks

Aye but who's going to demolish the conservatory that Souness botched up?

Re: Jose speaks

The boy Dalglish that made an arse of renovating the loft was never seen again!

Re: Jose speaks

Aye Dalglish won nothing as a manager, eh?

Re: Jose speaks

It's funny how irrational you can get about teams you like or don't like. I really don't have feelings one way or the other for any English team except Liverpool
who I don't like. The reason - Emlyn Hughes played for them. I am usually quite rational.
Because I neither like nor dislike Chelsea I think Mourinho is great for his team and supporters. Everything he says must have niggle away at opposition players and managers to some degree and occassionally that may be the difference between winning and losing.

Re: Jose speaks

That's a lie TOC. You are never rational!
