Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Arbroath play off- todays Courier

Arbroath are accusing the SFA of giving QP an advantage by bringing the play off match either against Arbroath or Stranraer forward one day . Apparently, both Stranraer and Arbroath declined the proposal from QP but the SFA have stepped in and the game will be on Tuesday, not Wednesday. McGlashan complained about his players having to ask for time off or other shifts from their jobs at short notice. But this also applies for QP players or I am missing something ?

Re: Arbroath play off- todays Courier

QP players know today that they'll need tuesday off work, whereas players of the opposing team won't know until saturday evening, if they need the tuesday or the wednesday off.

I think it's more a case of media mind games than a real problem, but intresting none the less.

Re: Arbroath play off- todays Courier

"Arbroath are accusing the SFA"

What that means is, Robbie Raeside ran all the way to Glasgow, into the SFA HQ, up the stairs, through the door into a meeting where it was being discussed and started screaming in the chairmans face, closely followed by his tail wagging sidekick Dobbins.

Re: Arbroath play off- todays Courier

Hampden wont be available for the Wednesday as UEFA have exclusive use of the stadium 14 days prior to the UEFA Cup Final. Arbroath and Stranraer wanted to deprive Queens Park of home advantage in the semi, by enforcing the Wednesday date and taking it to a neutral venue. If Queens Park reach the play off final Hampden will not be available to host that game either.
BTW Queens had to switch their CIS cup tie against Aberdeen to Firhill, as Hampden was unavailable, and won.
