Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

LEE'S TOO SHARP TO FACE DROP

East Fife v Stranraer
By Gordon Parks

LEE SHARP insists there's no chance of history repeating itself tonight when Stranraer face East Fife in the play-offs.

The Stair Park defender was a loser last year against Partick Thistle in the end-of-season contest and he's adamant it's a case of once bitten, twice shy.

Sharp said: "Last year we went down after losing in a play-off. That will stand us in good stead as we know what's required and there's no way we want to suffer that fate two seasons in a row.

"If we play to our strengths then we should be okay but it's not going to be easy against a side who weren't far away from winning the title.

"We've been playing quite well the past five weeks or so and the lads are confident going into the game.

"No one needs to tell us we've not played well enough this season and that's why we're in this situation."

East Fife boss Dave Baikie admits his side are underdogs.

He said: "We're playing a team from a higher division so they'll be favourites because they play against better teams every week.

"We've got nothing to lose as we've been the surprise package this season and it's a bonus to be in this position."
