Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Stranraer at new Bayview

Have Stranny ever played at new Bayview before? I can't remember them doing so, last time I saw them playing us was at old Bayview, and possibly the Archibald era? Am I going senile?

They beat us 1-0 last season in the CIS cup I think when around 200 fans turned up. We had just lost 4-0 to Berwick on the Saturday and prices were high.

Stranraer's one and only visit to Bayview Stadium was on 9th August 1995 when the Blues were a first division club.
A record low attendance for a competitive match (not including Fife Cup ties) of just 201 attended.
We lost 1-0.
I know for a fact that the 201 attendance is still better than Raith's record low, but of course I post this knowing full well that there will now be at least three posts from our resident R*ith supporters.
They'll be just DESPERATE to inform us that they know better. Let's see how long it takes! (starts stop watch ....... tick tick tick ........ . .

Well done! That was an observation and intelligence test as well! Well done to the intelligent and charismatic East Fife supporters who observed and replied to my deliberate error.
Still waiting for a response from the %$£! **&%6rs supporters, stop-watch still ticking!!
