Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Labour Voters...

Remember to fold your ballot papers before placing them in the box.
Otherwise your vote may not count...

Re: Labour Voters...

And don't forget to bring your own crayon in case they run out of pencils.
Red for Labour...

Re: Labour Voters...

Baaaaa.....

Re: Labour Voters...

MON THE SNP...

yassssss...

Re: Labour Voters...

The Daily Record is actually telling its readers to vote TORY to keep the SNP out.
They have lost all sanity and this just sums up the parties controlled from London.

1 2 3 Vote SNP

Re: Labour Voters...

Real Scots don't read the Record.

Re: Labour Voters...

The Daily Record is for fuds, trying to make it's readers think if the SNP get it that the union will split on Friday. Do these guys know the SNP propose a referendum in 2010 on this issue? Also, the Labour negative campaign strategy has got right on ma t!ts. Their policies are clearly not attractive enought that they have to point at others and try to de cry them rather than boasting about what they can actually do for our country.
And do we care that Gordon Brown will be PM for GB, will that appease us simple scots?? No chance GTF.

Re: Labour Voters...

Just back from 4 days up working in Moray and it's been such a braw site to see all the SNP posters and banners everywhere.

Having seen the front pages of the Record, Sun and Mail today, bit worried about tonight as there's a lot of gullible numpties read the first two.

Good to see The Times, Herald and amazingly The Scotsman backing the SNP this time round though.

if you haven't voted yet. Get out and do it now.

1 2 3 SNP

Re: Labour Voters...

Or dont. That is the good thing about democracy you can make your own mind up. When did voting snp become the only way to be a proud scot.

Re: Labour Voters...

Mark

No-one here has suggested any such thing. Your contribution is typical of the negative, empty rhetoric that has been the only distinguishing feature of one party's entire election campaign.

Re: Labour Voters...

I still don't believe that the SNP are the party who represent the working class.

Re: Labour Voters...

They aren't. Sadly we don't have that choice right now, and those getting excited about an SNP victory will be dissapointed when they realise very little has changed. Fair enough, it will be nice to see "NEW" Labour take a hammering, but thats about all this election can offer working class people.

Elections are generally shit, this is no exception.

Re: Labour Voters...

'Elections are generally shit'

Igor, I thought you were old enough to know that democracy means you don't always get what you want. Sometimes, so many people want something different that you end up in a minority. That's not 'shit', it's simply a fair way of judging what the public wants.

Re: Labour Voters...

I don't think a few elections every few years is a good way of giving people what they want, maybe thats what society convinces people what they want, but don't get mixed up.

Re: Labour Voters...

Fair enough, get the public mood more often by having a referendum every time an issue comes up. You'll be bust in a year.

Re: Labour Voters...

Nobody up watching this? Having doubts now as to how well SNP will do. Gutted.

Re: Labour Voters...

Mon the Central Fife!!!! Get in there.

Re: Labour Voters...

Just in from the count!!

Must admit thats a surprise.

Still got the council vote on Friday to go

Re: Labour Voters...

The joy of a 13 hour time difference!!! Tricia Marwick and Bruce Crawford taking traditional Labour seats Ya Beauty!!!

Re: Labour Voters...

For the first time ever, we have an 'independent' city! Dundee! Still up anybody? Even the kiwi's are now interested at work and are shouting encouragement..

Re: Labour Voters...

Yesss!! SNP won Central Fife.
Well done Tricia Marwick.

Methil is free!

Re: Labour Voters...

Tired of hearing all the hype regarding "you'll be worse off under Snp"
We lost our independence through money 250 years ago and i think that anyone who says they will not vote Snp 'cause i'll lose money is out of order. To put money before Nationality is crazy. Let's get Snp in and have a referendum, get independence and take it from there. I don't care if i have to pay some more income tax, at least we will be a Nation again. As for that twat along the road who says the best goal he ever seen was Gazzas against Scotland, says it all really regarding labour. He wants the fame and Lied to get the english on his side. Typical british rovers supporter.

Mon The Fife. [Same colours as SNP]

Re: Labour Voters...

Is it a good feeling to wake up to? Independence for central Fife!!!

Re: Labour Voters...

Was up watching this but didn't think of checking on here to see if any other nutters were!

Cracking result in Central Fife. Looking good for the council elections too.

Think the SNP might just fall one or two seats short but have the bigger share of the popular vote.

Will be gutted if they do.

The amount of spoilt/uncounted papers is an absolute disgrace though.

Re: Labour Voters...

Speaking to some folk involved in the election yesterday, it was the dirtiest campaign ever. SNP polling agents being intimidated and threatened. There was even an SNP guy beaten up at a polling station in Leven somewhere, and the police were struggling respond. I guess some people are bad losers.

Re: Labour Voters...

That doesn't suprise me one bit, and if it's true, why weren't the police doing more/arresting the thug?
It looks like it was a dirty campaign, people removing posters and stuff up north, and that was the lib-dems ffs!
You are right though GoF, the spoilt papers are a disgrace, funny how it happened when the status quo was a wee bit threatened. Imagine what it might be like if there is a referendum?
Loads of interest about the result here, as a lot of people are now saying that if Scotland gains independence, should NZ cut ties to a country that no longer exists (UK)? Wonder what the Canadians are saying...

Re: Labour Voters...

Brilliant result...now for the Fife to do the same

Re: Labour Voters...

Thought it was Saturday you lot were meeting at pub at 8 am. People beat up at polling stations? Police couldn't control mobs? Where was this in Leven? Mountfluerie? Parkhill? Scoonie? Who wants SNP as main party. A Scotsman is his own worst enemy'

Re: Labour Voters...

voice of sanity is stuck in the dark ages with his Labour chums...wake up to the new Scotland !

Re: Labour Voters...

Lets annex ourselves off from the rest of the deranged "Scots" Freedom for Fife with El Presidenti Gray as our leader. OOH TO, OOH TO BE, OOH TO BE A FIFER....

By the way Salmond and McConnell are both wind bags, If either party had a decent honest forward thinking leader it truly would have been an election. What are we left with? almost a dead heat. Which can only mean compromise on both sides which takes us down the road of all other politically stagnant nations. Does every one not see that our halfway house devolution was a masterstroke by the southern power house it keeps our focus away from the real world. It will also side track future political talent by taking their eye off the ball once they get into the Holyrood gravy train. WAITING FOR A LEADER

Re: Labour Voters...

The SNP won in spite of everything. In spite of the hatred and bile from the media. (A noose on the front page of the Sun, for gods sake) 50 years of Labour hegemony are over!

I woke up this morning to find the sky hadn't fallen in after all,and there was no plague of locusts.
We have a new start. And hopefully a brighter future.

Re: Labour Voters...

Aye.
