Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

ex-players on free transfers

Willie McCulloch, John Ovenstone and Steve Kerrigan.

Would you take any of them back? All 3 are good players, but i'm always wary about bringing guys back for the second time (Herkes, Donaldson, Graham etc). Kegs must be getting on a bit now too. Always felt it was a mistake getting rid of Ovenstone though, good strong defender.

And if we're looking for a goalie, Willie is one of the best shot stoppers around, he's just prone to the odd howler, usually in important games...

Re: ex-players on free transfers

Nah, don't think any of these would add anything to the squad. We need to be aiming for higher quality.

Re: ex-players on free transfers

John would be good to have back, good defender...

Re: ex-players on free transfers

Ovenstone would be the only one I would want back, but we have a lot of cover in defence so don't think he would add to the squad

Re: ex-players on free transfers

If i was Blaikie i maybe want ti buy a gd defender lyk John Ovenstone and Stephen Tweed but none of the others lyk Willie McCulloch or Steve Kerrigan cuase we have one of the better Goalies around the now and tht is John Dodds

Re: ex-players on free transfers

Doddsie has been a star recently, Kerrigan was an EF legend six years ago.
Would take big John back though...
