Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

19s in final

19s beat ross county in penaltys after 2 2 draw in league cup semis

Re: 19s in final

Fantastic news.

Any idea who we play in the final, and where and when it is?

Re: 19s in final

Well done guys you have got better and better as the season has gone on. All the best for the final whoever you play.

Re: 19s in final

Saw most of the game today, but unfortunately without the camera as my battery is flat!
Good performance in difficult conditions against a good Ross County side. Half time score 1-1, our goal scored by Stuart Cargill. We went ahead ten minutes before the end of the game through a superb close range volley from Thomson. County equalised with a gale-force-wind-assisted effort a few minutes later. No scoring in extra time, although we did create some very good chances. Hero in the penalty shoot out was Jamie Roberts, who saved two. Jordyn Sheerin gave the County 'keeper no chance with the winning penalty, which almost burst the net! To be fair to their 'keeper, he almost saved our first two penalties, but then let himself down by booting the ball away at the end of the game and refusing to shake hands with Stuart Cargill.

Re: 19s in final

We will play one of three clubs,Livingston,Hamilton and yes,Queens Park in the final next Sunday. The game will be played on the fenced pitch at King George V Park which was the venue for todays semi final.

Re: 19s in final

Would it not be great for the boys to play the final at Bayview?

Re: 19s in final

Totally agree Angus, it would make more of an event of the day for the guys and could help draw a larger crowd

Re: 19s in final

The other semi is between Livingston and Queen's Park, Hamilton had to win their final game by six goals to overtake QP on goal difference but failed.

Re: 19s in final

Doubt that would matter much if it was at Bayview, too much empty seats would only dampen the amosphere, lets be honest, very few fans would turn up on their Sunday off to watch the 19s...
