Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Queen's Pk v East Fife PLAY-OFF CRUNCH NIGHT

9 May 2007
SWITCH WILL NOT SINC OUR DREAMS
Queen's Pk v East Fife PLAY-OFF CRUNCH NIGHT
RICHARD SINCLAIR hopes being kicked out of Hampden will give Queen's Park the incentive they need to beat East Fife.

The defender is convinced the first-leg switch from their home at the National Stadium to Firhill can still work in his side's favour.

With the UEFA Cup Final just a week away, the amateurs have been moved across the city but the 24-year-old believes they can still get off to a flyer against the Fifers.

He said: "We've known for a while that we wouldn't be able to play at Hampden if we reached this stage of the play-offs and it's not going to be a problem.

"We had a training session at Firhill on Monday night and the playing surface is in tremendous condition.

"Some people are suggesting we're at a disadvantage playing two away games but I don't agree.

Atmosphere "It would have been great to play the first leg at Hampden but playing home games there gives the opposition as much of a lift as it does us.

"This time we're at a ground which is new to both teams and it's a great place to play football as it's a smaller ground which will make for a better atmosphere.

"All of the players are looking forward to playing somewhere new and sometimes a change of scenery can be a positive thing."

East Fife boss Dave Baikie will head to Firhill looking to take away a lead for the return leg at the weekend.

He said: "I go into every game looking to win and it will be no different at Firhill.

"You can never tell how players handle occasions like this but I have total trust in my lads.

"The game being switched from Hampden makes no difference to us."

Admission prices for tonight's games will be £10 for adults and £5 for kids.
