Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Ryan Blackadder could return to the East Fife line-up....

East Fife v Queen's Park

Ryan Blackadder could return to the East Fife line-up for the second second-leg of their play-off final.
Blackadder missed his side's 4-2 first-leg defeat with a knee-ligament problem, but he has a chance of returning for the New Bayview clash.

Queen's Park's Paul Ronald faces a late fitness test on a calf injury as the Spiders aim for promotion.

But both Richard Sinclair and Tony Quinn trained on Thursday night and could be considered for the squad.

Manager Billy Stark is hopeful his side's first-leg led will be enough to get them through.

"We put in a very good performance in midweek and we know what we are capable of," he said.

"We have a healthy lead and we feel we can also go there and get a result.

"Losing the second goal in midweek doesn't really make much of a difference, unless you are East Fife who reduced a three-goal deficit to two.

"But we will go out with the same approach as we did in the first game."

The home side are outsiders and manager Dave Baikie knows the Methil side must put on a great show to have a chance of coming back into the tie

"We are hanging in there, but only just and we'll need a good start to have any hopes of getting through," he said.

Re: Ryan Blackadder could return to the East Fife line-up....

Really can't understand why Stark keeps playing down the second goal for us.

It makes a huge difference as the first goal on Saturday is now massive.

Re: Ryan Blackadder could return to the East Fife line-up....

To me Stark is really sayin we have no chance tommorow.
Well if hes saying that lets hope the players read it that way and that can get them fired up even more for tommorow to prove him wrong.

Re: Ryan Blackadder could return to the East Fife line-up....

To be fair to Billy Stark, they went to Arbroath with a two goal lead last Saturday. By half time they had a four goal lead. I think I would rather be in their position than ours.
Hope for an exciting match, and a positive outcome.

Re: Ryan Blackadder could return to the East Fife line-up....

Stark is playing down the second goal because he knows how potentialy important it can be to this final.

Hes playing mind games with his players trying to get them to focus on the positives of having a 2 goal lead rather than theres only 2 goals in it.

We can do our bit by mentioning at every opportunity just how massive a goal that was and keep mentioning it here, on Pie n Bovril and any place else we can.

Re: Ryan Blackadder could return to the East Fife line-up....

You're dead right Lonefifer, and he's not kidding anybody. He is sh!tting himself about that second goal.

Re: Ryan Blackadder could return to the East Fife line-up....

Of course he is, that's why he keeps downplaying its signifigance.
