Hi work in a care home, previous kettle exploded. Have been given an old kettle that has no automatic switch off.
As i have to leave the kitchen on a regular basis to deliver teas/breakfasts etc, i need to leave the kettle switched on, pre boiling for the next batch or i wont get them all done. It will just boil dry if i dont get back in time. I find it hard to believe this old kettle can be legal . Any thoughts appreciated.
The situation you are describing is extremely unsafe.I would recommend that you stop using this faulty kettle immediately. Inform a manager. If you are still unhappy that your concerns are not being adequately addressed you should contact the HSE.
