And the guy at the funeral who tried to sell the funeral plan (he's played loads a small parts - brilliant) wasn't he good ? And Columbo - watch him carefully and you'll notice the tell tale signs of great admiration for the great Musician. And the notebook bit about the flask - perfect Columbo....

I think he did a great job in SS. Very natural and folksy performance and it's one of my all-time favorite episodes. I'm glad they allowed him to showcase one of his best songs at the backyard BBQ.

I'm surprised they made the character creepy with Edna blackmailing him over the affair with 15 yo Mary Ann; and there is another cringeworthy scene with a young female music student at his house.
