whato do you think about Columbo falling asleep in Dale's apartment? Do you think he staged it (for some reasons it would be hard to do)? or he really fell aspeel and was extremely lucky to touch the paintings?
Second thing - I am wondering why Dale has a "D" letter on his car which means Germany :)

While I wouldn't put any strange strategy beyond columbo, we shouldn't forget he can be clumsy, and so I think in that case he might actually have fallen asleep, I think it was indeed a lucky shot that he caught him with the paintings.
