Forgotten Lady (Speaking of the Bathroom - Previous Cass Post)

I've been thinking about the episode Forgotten Lady when Columbo says that there are only 4 possibilities that could have happened when the film broke. BUT....did he ever think to consider that Ms. Wheeler could have been in the john? Hmmmm....a good lawyer could probably get her off.......

Re: Forgotten Lady (Speaking of the Bathroom - Previous Cass Post)

good point fred. columbo never considered the fact that she could have gone to the loo.

Re: Re: Forgotten Lady (Speaking of the Bathroom - Previous Cass Post)

And a lady certainly would not mention such.

And Maurice Evans is a riot in this one as the butler who just can not stand the sight of the slovenly Columbo. "Lieutenant Columbo, Madam!" But his inflection indicates he is introducing something one ususally scrapes off the bottom of one's show.

Yes, I'd rate Maurice Evans's performance in this episode as ranking up with Vitto Scotti's as the fancy-pants tailor in "Candidate."

Actually, a good lawyer could have gotten them ALL off (except for the ones who were relieved to admit it), but then, no form of amusement is worth very much without a little fantasy.
