Would anyone here know this guy?
Janice checked into my website and saw I was at FSS, Key West.
Here are her three emails to me.

My pen pal's name was Donald M. Williams, Sonar Chief. Before he was stationed in Key West, he was aboard the USS John Hood DD655. I thank you in advance for any information you have about him. Janice.
He was stationed at Key West from late 62-64, about the same time you said you were there.
Not sure if this is any help, but Don was an instructor at the Fleet Sonar School. Thank you, Janice

I can't recall the name, but I certainly could have had him for an instructor. Also, I'm not sure when he made Chief
Wouldn't it be nice if someone here knew him.
Charlie, I think the Chief Williams Jim Wheeler is talking about is the Dave Williams STG3 that was in watch section four with us on Eleuthera in 65,66 & 67 I heard he had decided to make the Navy his career. I wouldn't be surprised, he was smarter than me.
One of my life long buddies in the system is David L. Williams. I first met Dave in NFLD 1966-1970. He was an STG3 then STG2 when we both re-enlisted and went to Barbers Point and comissioned that site. I believe his duty station prior to Argentia was Grand Turks. He did tour of Brawdy, Kef, and COSL. I know he retired as a Master Chief I think in 1888-89, but not sure of that. I am not sure this is the Dave Williams you knew, but I know he lives in Virgina Beach.
