Weller

Our shipmate, Chris, took a bad fall in April and has TBI. The doctors believe he will approach normal in about 6 months.

Chris was my LPO in the mid-80's so this hurts extra.

I'm in contact with Gretchen.

Based on my significant medical training, believe it would be beneficial for him to talk to a bunch of his buddies to jog some memories.

Will advise number when Gretchen is prepared for the deluge.

Nick

Re: Weller

Bad news... hope there are no ripple effects. Never know with TBI's. Have Gretchen give Chris my best for complete and non-eventful recovery. Still mending from my two falls in March and May. Not real fun, but no TBI. Rick

Re: Weller

One of my favorite sailors. I met him as a Seaman, I turned around twice and he was a Master Chief.
My most sincere wishes for A speedy and complete recovery.

Re: Weller

Prayers and best wishes for a full recovery for Chris. Trying my best to remember where I knew him. Keflavik? ORI team maybe?

Re: Master Chief Chris Weller

Thoughts with Chris and Gretchen. I followed Chris Weller on and off throughout his career. We first met at NAVFAC Keflavik, Iceland during a 1983-86 tour. Great analyst, true gentleman and one hell of a comedian. Don't believe he was a member of the Association, Nick. Do we have an address? - Jim

Re: Weller

Sorry to hear this. I have him as a friend on FB and try to keep in touch. Think he’s in Florida.

Re: Weller

Chris saw a different neurologist today. After reviewing his chart and examining him, the doc was amazed at his progress and predicted that Chris would be fully recovered in a year and playing tennis in 18 months.

Fabulous news.

Nick
