Re: Reunion

Jane (all),

Ideally the IUSS 70th Anniversary/Reunion would be held the weekend of 20-22 September 2024. And although I was hoping someone else would step up to coordinate a reunion, that individual has not materialized.

I have an office call scheduled with the CUS Commodore/Deputy next Monday, 30 October to discuss. I have also put a marker on the weekend with the Waterside Marriott hotel in Norfolk, VA just in case.

We're not going to let the 70th go by without a party; just not sure of the size and scope until we get a handle on levels of support in coordinating the event.

I'll post an update here and then to social media once I have a feel for the CUS position and who we have on our committee.

I think penciling in the dates 20-22 September in Norfolk Virginia for now is a great idea.

If anyone wants to discuss privately my cell number is (757)376-2019 and email is Jim_Donovan53@yahoo.com

Re: Reunion

Jim,
Thanks for your message regarding the 70th IUSS reunion. I believe it was a much needed response to the few inquiries about individual travel plans, etc., and it should put some minds at ease.
If I were closer to the Tidewater area, I would be glad to volunteer as the reunion coordinator. Most likely, there are others in similar situations. I trust all goes well with your meeting with the CUS and look forward to hearing of further developments.
Best regards.
Irv

Re: Reunion

Outstanding, but I wish the next generation would take charge. You've kept us together for a long time. If I wasn't so far away I'd help. I've penciled it in on my calendar.

Re: Reunion

Jane, Thank you. You had better get your butt over here. I’d hate the prospect of having to fly out to the “Wild Wild West or wherever it is you and Art have your camp these days just to get you. 😊😘

You helped us last time and I very much appreciated it. I’m sure there will be plenty of volunteer opportunities that Friday night and Saturday night.
