TRICARE PHARMACY DRUG COPAY INCREASES: 01 JAN 2024
A. TRICARE Home Delivery (Up to a 90-day supply)
1. Generic formulary drugs will increase from $12 to $13.
2. Brand-name formulary drugs will increase from $34 to $38.
3. Non-formulary drugs will increase from $68 to $76.
B. Retail network pharmacies (Up to a 30-day supply)-
1. Generic formulary drugs will increase from $14 to $16.
2. Brand-name formulary drugs will increase from $38 to $43*.
3. Non-formulary drugs will increase from $68 to $76*.
C. Non-network pharmacies (Up to a 30-day supply) for non-TRICARE Prime plan
1. Generic formulary drugs and brand-name formulary drugs will cost $43 (up from $38) or 20% of the total cost, whichever is more, after you meet your annual deductible.
2. Non-formulary drugs will cost $76 (up from $68) or 20% of the total cost, whichever is more, after you meet your annual deductible.
* Select maintenance medications (taken for long-term conditions) may only be filled twice at retail network pharmacies and then must be filled via home delivery or military pharmacy. Acute (short-term) use medications are available at retail pharmacies.
There is still a $0 copay for prescriptions filled at military pharmacies.
Thank God I have easy access to a military pharmacy system here in San Diego because Express Scripts is the "devil incarnate" IMHO.
I think Congress made a huge mistake when they implemented the current mail order system. Seems Express Scripts paid off enough of our Senators and Representatives to make this happen. The only people that benefited are Express Scripts and those Senators and Representatives that receive campaign contributions from Express Scripts and/or their proxies.
