It is sad for me to report the passing of LCDR Robert B. Miller. Bob was my skipper during my tour in Guam circa 1983. He was one of the finest officers I knew throughout my Naval career. He knew the worth of and had the utmost respect for his chief petty officers. He loved golf, poker, martinis and a great oldies sing along at the club during happy hour. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. My sincere thoughts and prayers to his wife Judy and their entire family. Rest in peace skipper.
I did not know the Skipper but I'm quite sure he is the guy that Leroy raved about as the best skipper with whom he had had ever served. That tells me a lot.
Always sad to hear of the passing of the good ones.
Our condolences to the Miller family.
Hello John,
That is absolutely correct. Leroy and I were together at Guam when Bob was the skipper. I would echo Leroy's comments regarding him. He was the best CO I ever worked for. He valued and respected his CPO's to the utmost.
