Re: Columbia SSBN

Rick,
Interesting indeed. Coincidently I bumped into a guy yesterday wearing a Navy jacket and I said hello and asked what his rate was. He was an AT flying on P3's dropping sonobouys. Surprising how things sometimes happen. Anyway, glad to see you're still upright and able to take nourishment. Take care and be well.

Re: Columbia SSBN

As I said several years ago when the Navy announced the Columbia….nobody has ever been able to find an Ohio. Why don’t we just build more of them?

Maybe I’m missing something.

Re: Columbia SSBN

Acoustically you're spot on. The problem is that the newer quantum-based sonars on RPVs have a demonstrated capability that far exceeds passive. This vessel, using composits, will defeat quantum mad and phased detection.

Re: Columbia SSBN

Hanging in there so far. Thanks John. Take care.
