Re: Closing theme music

Hi. Thanks for your response. I don't think it's episode specific. The first episodes proper (that is excluding the first two movies) up to and including Lady in Waiting (the theme changes to the aforementioned Murder Mystery Theme on the next ep) feature this music by Mancini.

Re: Closing theme music

Stephen is half-right. Lady in Waiting closes with the "Lady in Waiting Theme," composed by Billy Goldenberg.
The same music also opens the episode.
Death Lends a Hand, Dead Weight, Etude in Black, Greenhouse Jungle, and numerous others similarly open and close with the composer's main theme for those episodes.

Re: Closing theme music

Right.
I used to tape these end credits onto cassettes!

Re: Closing theme music

Ah. Ok. I'll need to revisit the early episodes and record the music! Thanks David and Stephen. Maybe one day there'll be a decent soundtrack compilation. The majors are squeezing every other vault dry....

Re: Closing theme music

Well the specs on the upcoming Blu-Ray release indicate music/FX tracks for each episode so it will be possible to rip the music for each episode (albeit imperfectly).

I always wished Gil Melle's theme had become the "default" for the series. I really enjoyed it over the end credits much in the way that Jerry Fielding had the default theme for McMillan And Wife.

Re: Closing theme music

Gah! Typical. We buy the DVD box as there was no sign of a realistic Blu-ray set. Same thing'll happen to Rockford. I'll happily rebuy The Dukes should that be graced with such a release. There's always something.
