I came back to watching Columbo after one year break :) so some poits again about Double shock:
1. Why actually Paris is cutting off the cable casing? The electrical shock can will be succesfull withouth it right?
2. This series that Mrs Peck watches makes me laugh all the time: „you can hand me your stethoscope Rocky, right now” :D
3. To the eternal dilemma: “do you like Mrs Peck or not” I answer – no, I don't like her :P I don't like all the scenes when she shouts on Lieutenant. Although I feel very sorry for her in the end
4. Now I noticed for the first time, but I am not sure (how funny that after watching it fo 40 times, I still see something new for me): is this g** who interviews Dexter for the first time (when Columbo comes back from the bathroom upstairs) the same g** who was giving a tour through the winery in “Any Old Port In A Storm”?? I think he is
5. How did Columbo enter Lisa's apartment?
6. With this planes it is incredible, first Norman says he has “exactly 47 minutes to catch a plane” and he is still in the bank (!!) and then Columbo with Dexter go “just like that” to Las Vegas like it was just taking a cab 3 blocks away
7. What's about those two mixers? Columbo suspects that one will be missing (because other one was used for murder). But Dexter still shows him that he has two new ones. Was Columbo wrong or what?
8. The Las Vegas scene. For long time I didn't think about it, but Columbo seems very surprsed when he sees Norman in casino. Probably viewers don't think about it but, I am sure the flight to Las Vegas took some time, for sure enough to have long conversations. I don't believe that Columbo didn't ask Dexter why are they flying to Las Vegas during the trip. For sure he did, so why is he so surprised at the casino to see Norman? :P
9. The lawyer Hathaway was really a piece of work. I never understood why Lisa gets angry and nervous with Columbo. Now I know – she knew that she will inherit whether married or not yet, so she was afraid that Columbo will find that out and find out that she had a motive. But then lawyer says he can persuade her to give him her copy. Of course while saying that he couldn't have predicted that she will die soon. So he just wanted to leave her defenceless without her copy and he wanted to claim that this copy doesn't exist. What a sly g** :P
10. One of the most cruel murders. Lisa Chambers. We only see the effect, but when I imagine how did it happen – two men taking defenseless woman and throw her from the balcony? That's horrible
11. Dexter says in the end: “Mrs Peck, did you, or did you not see me drive out of here, wave goodbye, honk my horn?”. The fact is that he never honked his horn
1. I always wondered that myself... also why a kitchen mixer? why not a hair dryer?
3. no I'm not fond of Mrs. Peck
4. No, the g** giving the tour was Robert Doyle, he only appeared once in any Columbo (according to IMDB)
7. How did Columbo miraculously figure out it was a mixer in the first place? Every other murder mystery in history uses a hair dryer or a space heater...
8. that seems to happen a lot in tv/movies, there is a long journey getting somewhere, what the heck did they talk about on the way there?
